It was wonderful being home for the holidays! I was able to spend quality time with my family, meet up with friends, shop at Target and Trader Joes, see my Grandpa, eat sushi with my brother at Akida, relax at home, and just enjoy being back in Richmond! Even though it was great to be back home, it reaffirmed that I made the right decision to leave. I miss my family and friends more than anything and the charm of Richmond, but life in Dubai is great! Saying goodbye was hard, but I was happy to get back to the UAE!
Since being back I’ve enjoyed a beach front brunch with great friends, seen the Miracle Gardens (BIG tourist trap, but enjoyed a good laugh), had happy hour at The Observatory where you get an amazing view of The Palm, had an entire day on Lebanon Island (part of The World Islands), enjoyed a market which reminded me of home with food trucks, shopping, and music, and of course school has been keeping me busy!
What’s next? I’m hoping to get tickets to The Desert Classic golf tournament this coming weekend. I recently bought tickets to Redfest, a two day music festival, as well as tickets to a night of Jazz with David Grey and Sting! But, best of all, I bought tickets for my next trip……..Spring Break 2016 will be spent in Thailand and Indonesia!
I hope everyone at home enjoyed their snow days! It made me homesick and jealous of the days off. I’m pretty sure we won’t be getting any of those here! But, you can’t beat the weather in Dubai right now….there are some mornings and nights I would even say it’s “chilly”. Missing everyone! xoxo
